Apply For An Admission (I-20)

To apply and ultimately obtain a student visa, you must first obtain a university admission (I-20) from a university approved by the Student and Exchange Visitors Program, Immigration & Customs Enforcement. Each university sets up its own admission guidelines and most determine admission based on several criteria.

Once you have successfully obtain your I-20, you must pay the SEVIS Fee in order to be enrolled in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

To apply for a student visa the next step is to complete the visa application and pay the appropriate visa fees.

Schedule an interview. An F-1 student visa for the USA can be issued up to 120 days in advance of your course of study start date. You will only be able to enter the US with an F-1 visa 30 days before your start date.

You must appear in person for your visa interview. After scheduling an appointment at the Embassy or Consulate, you will need to interview with a U.S. consular officer and provide all the necessary documents. Your interview will determine whether you are qualified for an F-1 Visa
